Terms of Service

Last updated October 2026

These terms cover your use of the One City Church care portal, including the email and text messages we send about your care.

Using this portal

This portal exists to help you request care and to let our team walk with you through it. Please give accurate information so we can route your request to the right person, and keep your contact details current.

This portal is not monitored for emergencies. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988.

Text message program

If you opt in on a care form, One City Church may send you text messages about your request: counseling appointment reminders, updates, and changes to your care. We send these to the mobile number you provide.

  • Message frequency varies — up to 4 msgs/month.
  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
  • Reply HELP for help at any time.
  • Reply STOP to opt out at any time. You will receive one confirmation, then no further texts.
  • Opting in is optional and is never a condition of receiving care.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We may change or end the messaging program, and we will update these terms if we do. You can also opt back in at any time by contacting our care team.

Questions about the messaging program? Call (757) 547-1811 or email office@weareonecity.com.

Email messages

We also email you about your care — a confirmation when you submit a request, and updates as your case moves forward. You do not need to reply to those emails; every message points you to a secure page in this portal where you can read details and take action.

Our care services

Requesting care here starts a conversation, not a guarantee of a specific service, appointment time, or outcome. Our team reviews each request and will tell you what we can offer. Counseling referrals are served in partnership with Restorer of Broken Walls Counseling Services, and your counselor's own professional terms and privacy practices apply to your sessions.

Financial assistance is a limited, last-resort resource reviewed by our benevolence committee. A request may be approved, denied, or closed if it is withdrawn.

Acceptable use

Please don't submit requests on behalf of someone else without their knowledge, use the portal to send harmful or unlawful content, or attempt to access records that aren't yours. We may close a request or restrict access if the portal is misused.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our services change. The version posted here is the one that applies. Continuing to use the portal or the messaging program after an update means you accept the updated terms.

See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information, or reach our team through the portal if you have questions.
